CSTP Growth & Development

AREAS OF STRENGTH

I have experienced the most growth in CSTP 2: Creating and Maintaining Effective Environments for Student Learning. Growth in this area stems from consistent feedback, through surveys and weekly check-ins, from my peers, induction coach, and most importantly, my amazing students. Throughout the year, at the request of students, I implemented more projects using a variety of technological platforms to keep the lessons engaging and practical, while also encouraging students to take learning into their own hands. Each student is unique so it was important to use discretion and informed judgements to create learning environments that students would succeed in.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT

There are a variety of ways to assess students for learning. In the future I will include more formal and informal assessments such as weekly quizzes, Kahoots, Blookets, and surveys. Even in these lower categories, I am more well-rounded and off to a great start!

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?

This year, I have grown a lot as a teacher and an individual. I am most proud of my overall growth on all of the CSTPs. Also, I am proud of helping as many students as possible with mathematics and career aspirations. I had a great time learning about my students interests and getting them in the mindset to think about vocations, universities, scholars, and post-highschool life in general. I tried many new things this year and had overall positive student responses, especially when working on projects. I understand that I have a lot of room to grow and I look forward to the challenges that come with each year of teaching.
